The Sedex Member Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA) is one of the most widely used ethical audit formats in the world.
The SMETA methodology uses the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) code and local legislation as a measurement tool. It includes four modules: Health and Safety, Work Standards, Environment (optional) and Business Ethics (optional).
